Terms & Conditions
Please read these terms and conditions carefully before making a booking. It's the responsibility of the named person on the contact form to understand, agree, and accept responsibility for all booking conditions, including all payments due by specified dates.
By proceeding to pay a deposit, you accept that you are entering into a contract and you agree to be bound by these conditions. A booking isn't secured until a deposit is received.
All wedding payments made are strictly non-refundable and non-transferable. All other in-salon services can be transferable at our discretion; if notified outside of our 12 hour cancellation window.
SALON DEPOSITS & CANCELLATIONS
To secure a salon booking, we require a 50% non-refundable deposit (per person/per booking) for hair & makeup applications & beauty bookings. We will not consider the booking confirmed until this deposit is received.
All booking details will be confirmed the day before via an automated text. All payments are strictly non-refundable.
In light of the Covid-19 pandemic, our in-salon deposits remain non-refundable, however we have revised our usual policy to make in-salon deposits transferable, at our discretion.
Given the individual circumstance, we will consider transferring your booking to a new date & time (depending on availability of our team) or converting your deposit into a credit to be used for any in-salon service.
If a credit is granted, it will have a 12 month expiration from the date of cancellation.
We request that you please give us as much notice as possible outside of the 12 hour cancellation window and liaise with us when deciding on the new date so we can advise availability.
SUSTAINABLE SALONS FEE
We have a $2 Sustainable Salons Fee on every service in the salon. This minimizes the ecological footprint of each salon visit and supports a range of important sustainability and community initiatives. You can find out more about Sustainable Salons here
WEEKEND BEAUTY BOOKINGS
Due to the in-demand nature of our makeup and hair bookings on Saturday & Sundays; if you have booked your beauty appointment on a weekend; we reserve the right to alter the timing or reschedule to another suitable date if we are experiencing any staffing issues. We will do our best to give as much notice as possible and find another time for you as close as we can to your original timing.
Immediate payment of a non-refundable & non-transferable 50% deposit is required before a date will be held. Any deposit paid is deducted from the final balance of your service. Please note, with wedding bookings, this is not an upfront payment for a trial. Until we receive your deposit, the date is still available for someone else to book. Once the deposit has been paid, you are agreeing to the terms and conditions of your quote. All payments are strictly non-refundable, and non-transferable.
REMAINING BRIDAL PAYMENTS
The balance is due one month prior to your wedding date. We will send out your updated remaining balance invoice 6 weeks prior to your wedding date. Should no payment be received, we have the right to cancel all services for your wedding date and all fees will still be payable.
IF YOU CHANGE YOUR BRIDAL BOOKING
After paying your deposit - If someone decides to pull out of their service, the total amount quoted will remain the same and no refund will be offered, you have the option to replace them with someone else.
Changes to your booking by adding another person onto your original booking can only be accepted if time / resources allow on your wedding day and we will require prior notice and payment due at the specified time. Adding extra people on the day, without prior warning, may jeopardise the quality of our work or delay the ceremony.
IF YOU CANCEL OR POSTPONE YOUR BRIDAL BOOKING
In the unfortunate event that you have to cancel or postpone your bridal booking, any payments you have made are strictly non-refundable, and non-transferable. This is to cover the fact that we have held the date, and turned away other bookings.
If you wish to postpone your wedding date; you will need to pay another non-refundable deposit as this will be treated as a new booking.
The only situation, at our discretion, where we transfer your deposit to a new date (if said date is available), is when a South Australian government enforced lockdown due to the Covid-19 pandemic is issued, and we are unable to legally operate. This precludes government enforced restrictions placed on wedding capacity numbers etc. In this instance, we will also minus a $200 admin fee from your deposit.
IF WE CANCEL OR CHANGE YOUR BOOKING
In the unlikely event that we, as a team, cannot attend on the day of your wedding due to unforeseen and unfortunate events or circumstances, all payments will be immediately refunded (including deposit). We will work with you to find an alternative reputable stylist/artist or salon to cater for your requirements however; any such booking will remain solely the responsibility of yourself.
If one of our team is unable to attend on your booking date or wedding day, due to illness or unforeseen circumstances, we will immediately try to find an alternative freelance stylist/artist to stand in. If this is not possible, we will ask for an earlier start time to accommodate original numbers, or we will focus on bride & bridesmaids and refund any forfeited services. No further compensation will be offered.
If a member of our team is made to feel uncomfortable in any way, or mistreated, or if anyone becomes abusive/violent or displays any offensive behaviour, we have the right to cancel the contract without refund. In the event of extreme weather conditions where we are physically unable to reach your wedding destination; we reserve the right to cancel your booking. We will refund all monies as a gesture of goodwill, excluding trial costs and deposit.
BRIDAL HAIR & MAKEUP TRIALS
Bridal trials are compulsory for all brides. If you have already secured your wedding date with a deposit, we require that bridal clients book their trials within 3 months of booking.
Trials are conducted on week days only, to ensure the leisure of ample time and flexibility. We like to allow a full hour for makeup trials & 1.5-2 hours for a hair and makeup trial so there is plenty of time for the consult, application & of course having a good old natter!
All trials are to take place at our spacious, luxe & accessible salon located at 324 Unley Road, Hyde Park.
We do one look during the trial and complete it to perfection; if time permits we are willing to make slight adjustments to see variation. If you are wanting to try two distinctly different looks, you will need to book two appointments. We will do as much styling as we can in trial sessions (60 minutes for makeup / 60 minutes for hairstyling / 90-120 minutes for hair & makeup depending on hairstyle choice). If trials run over time, additional charges may be incurred ($50 per every half hour). A second trial can be booked subject to availability, the same charges as your first trial will apply.
Without a trial, we will not accept responsibility if a chosen style or look does not work on a wedding day or there are circumstances where there is a mismatch in styles, approach, or expectations, and a refund will not be offered. We reserve the right to cancel a booking following a trial, with a refund of the deposit, in circumstances where the client is uncooperative, or makes any member of our team feel uncomfortable.
It is advisable that you familiarize yourself with our portfolio and ensure you are confident our capabilities and style are appropriate before securing a booking.
BRIDAL TRIAL PREPARATION
Once we have locked in a trial date, we love to see any inspiration images of your desired makeup and hair looks. This gives us a good indication of the style, depth & intricacy you are after.
For makeup applications; if you could simply please arrive with a clean fresh face (obviously if you have come straight from work, we completely understand!)
For hair styling; We generally request hair to be dry & washed the day before (morning or evening) just to allow for some natural oils and texture to come through. However you are the expert at your own hair and its washing cycle; for instance, if you have naturally oily hair and wash your hair daily, please wash the morning of our booking.
BRIDAL TRAVEL FEE & PARKING
We encourage our bridal clients to come in salon as much as possible as we have poured so much love and effort into creating a welcoming, comfortable & presentable space. We encourage bridal parties to come in salon to; mix up their surroundings; kick back in our funky decor; savour some complimentary bubbles & potentially have several artists/stylists on deck so you can cut the prep timing right down.
We love our little salon home & much prefer to operate out of it; especially on Saturdays. Thus we are trying to curb traveling out to avoid lost travel time, & unpredictable variables around travel. Due to this we no longer travel out for single bookings.
However if travel is required for a mobile group or bridal booking; such bookings are subject to additional requirements & charges;
*We require a minimum spend of $2000.
This fee is inclusive of x2 artists & a call out fee, administration fee; and covers a maximum of 12 services.
*The bridal booking timing must be between 7am - 12noon.
*We only travel within a 80km radius of Unley.
Our hair and makeup artists carry a lot of heavy equipment, so please advise/arrange parking prior to the special occasion or wedding date. Please note; parking costs are included in our travel fee.
A $200 administration fee is included in any bridal bookings to cover the time that goes into initial inquiries, general communications, quoting, invoicing, timeplans, and adaptations of bookings.
EARLY MORNING FEE
In the event that we are required to start before 6am; there will be an additional $50 charge per 30mins.
If you would like to reduce the time taken for off-site bridal bookings, we can arrange to bring an assistant or additional artist for an additional flat fee of $200; if there is availability.
If off site or on a Sunday this is subject to additional fees that are quoted on a case by case basis. Please inquire for more information.
We generally allow 45 mins - 1hr per makeup application / hair style on the wedding day plus some wiggle-room. This is dependent on the makeup style & bridal party member (e.g. we will generally allow more time for a bride)
For hair & makeup with one stylist; it varies depending on the complexities of the hairstyling. We generally allow 1.5hrs per person. Sometimes up to 2 hours for a bride with a complex upstyle.
Our usual formula for makeup time allowance beyond 3 faces is:
Total number of Makeups - 1 = Total Hours
i.e 5 makeups - 1 = 4 hours time allowance
We highly recommend being ready approximately 1 hour - 1.5 hours prior to departing for the ceremony. That last hour is always super hectic no matter how organised you may be. Plus it is always subject to photographer / videographer wishes.
Time is fleeting on a wedding day. We always advise to allow more time then less wherever possible. The bridal preparation doesn't have to be a race against the clock - it can be a leisurely relaxing experience where you literally have the time to stop and smell the roses!
BRIDAL APPLICATION ORDER
If we are applying both makeup and hair, we will generally start with hair preparation / setting then move into makeup.
For makeup applications, we will move through the party in whatever order suits your group and aim to do the bride’s makeup second to last or last depending on the timing & number. We will also do a round of last minute touch ups if required before we depart.
For hair-styling & makeup, we will start with the hair component (prepping, setting & up styling) then move into makeup once all the hair is complete. If vintage or down styles are on the menu, then we will leave hair to set throughout makeup applications, before completing with a final brush out & placement before final touch ups.
IN THE EVENT OF DELAYS EXPERIENCED ON THE WEDDING DAY
If we experience unforeseen delays, which are out of our control, refunds will not be given in the event that one or more services are forfeited as a result and no compensation will be offered if we overrun. If you are aware of factors, which could delay or hinder our journey, such as diversions, road closures, speed restrictions, issues etc. please advise us as soon as possible so we can factor this into our route. No refund or compensation will be offered for delays caused by other wedding vendors, guests, or members of the bridal party.
A minimum of 45 minutes will be allocated for hair or makeup application per person and we will advise a timeline prior to the day. Please ensure that your other suppliers (i.e photographers & videographers) are aware of our timeline & expected finish. If you suspect any member of your bridal party may pose as a challenge in any way, they are encouraged to have a trial to avoid potential delays on the day.
CLIENT OBLIGATIONS ON THE WEDDING DAY
Please ensure every member of your party is aware of timings on the day and that they need to be, and remain, available. We request that all parties cooperate on the day of the booking, which includes being ready at the scheduled time for hair and makeup. This will ensure we run on time and there is no delay.
Please ensure all other instructions provided to you prior to the booking are followed, e.g. to make sure hair is washed and dried the day before.
Please ensure that our team will be working in a suitable environment with adequate lighting, by a window is best for natural light. Access to electricity points, hand washing facilities and a large flat surface for our products.
You are to inform us of any allergies or reactions prior to, or after, any makeup application or hair styling. If no known allergies are stated, we cannot be held liable for any reactions, injuries, losses, damage, costs, claims and actions that may occur to you or any other member of your party.
Prior to having makeup applied or hair styled, please ensure you and your party are prepared, to avoid leaving the chair whilst we are working. Please ensure teeth are cleaned, you have been to the toilet and contact lenses are applied (if applicable), before sitting in the chair. Also make sure you are make-up free (we will prep your skin)
For their own safety please ensure that children are kept away from our styling tools and products at all times. Styling irons are extremely hot, and hazardous, and we will not be held responsible if a child is injured as a result of the parent or carer not being present.
We are not obliged to stay if we have completed our work before the estimated completion time. We may not be able to stay longer than specified for requests that are outside the scope of our makeup and hairstyling services (eg posing for photographs etc)
If you have fine, thin hair; are struggling to grow your hair fast enough for your big day / upcoming event; or you simply want to make sure you can create the hairstyle you want; we highly suggest purchasing clip in human hair extensions.
Please inform us prior to your trial or event so we can arrange an in-person colour match and advise you on pricing. If you or a member of your bridal party wishes to bring their own clip in extensions on the wedding day or special occasion date, we must be advised prior to allow additional time and they must be of a high quality human hair to allow heated styling.
WET HAIR FEE
A $20 additional blow out fee will be applied to anyone who arrives to their stylist, in salon or the wedding day, with wet hair, unless advised prior. This will throw off the timeline, due to extra time required to blow out the hair.
All brushes, tools, and makeup products are sanitized between every makeup application. Makeup products used are hypoallergenic. Any allergies and/or skin conditions should be reported by the client to the makeup artist prior to application and, if need be, a sample test of makeup may be performed on the skin to test reaction.
For in salon bookings and offsite, we advise wearing loose dark clothing. For makeup applications & hair styling button up or wide-necked garments are preferable. We will try our best to avoid any spillage of makeup, hair and beauty products on your garment, however this is always a risk so advise wearing appropriate clothing. We will not be responsible for or liable for any dry cleaning or replacement in the event of any accidental soiling.
ALLERGIES AND HYGIENE
Unless a list of ingredients of potential reactive ingredients are presented to us before the makeup application, M&Co Style Bar is not responsible for any reactions to makeup. If you or your bridal party are suffering from any type of contagious illness including, but not limited to, conjunctivitis, eye styes/cysts, cold sores, open wounds/cuts on the face and neck, staph infection, head lice, a flu or other contagious illness, we need to be informed as a matter of urgency and reserve the right to refuse service of any infectious person. This is a precaution taken in order to ensure non-contamination of our kits and brushes, despite the fact all items are sanitised between clients.
PHOTOGRAPHY & IMAGE COPYRIGHT
It is imperative that we continue to update our portfolio and demonstrate our work to future prospective brides. Please let us know in advance by written email if you do not wish to be photographed or if you are not happy for us to use your images for social media purposes; all staff will be notified. We are happy to be photographed on your wedding day however, any photo image incorporating our team in action, or our hair and/or make-up design, on the internet or on any other advertisement, must make reference or credit us as the hair and/or makeup artists.
Your privacy is taken very seriously. Your personal information will never be used for any purpose other than processing your booking and conducting our service with you. Further, your information will not intentionally be passed on to a third party under any circumstances.
All salon booking payments are to be paid in full on the date of service (minus deposits paid prior via our online booking or direct debit) via EFT or sighted bank transfer as we are a cash-free establishment. Personal Cheques will not be accepted.
